How to interest the child by reading?

Reading is a very complex process. Learning to read is not so easy. It is one thing to know the alphabet and put letters in syllables, and syllables into words. The school teaches to read a long time. But little of this is obtained. Many still remain at the level of folding words, not having learned to see the meaning in the read.

To be able to read, one must do it well. Our brain perceives information in fractions of a second, and slow reading prevents, delays the perception process. Scientists have established a relationship between reading speed and academic achievement. A student who learns fours and fives, reads at a speed of 120 or more words per minute. Therefore, the parents concerned simply have to do everything to ensure that their child learns to read quickly and, more importantly, to see the meaning in the read.

Parents, as no one else knows, what texts are offered by the authors of the textbook from which the child begins to learn how to read. These texts do not give anything to the mind or the heart of the child. There are no tasks to them at all.

To us then, after 6-7 years, do not puzzle, why the child does not want to learn, and the computer adores (mostly its game version), we will help our reader become a reader.

My search for acceptable exercises for my own children lasted a very long time. But, I hasten to please you, have ended successfully and have brought good results. I will give a few exercises that will help to interest the child by reading. Texts of these exercises can be made by yourself, choose from children’s books, and then print on the computer in large multicolored letters.

We will move from simple to complex.
The first exercise. Recover words in the sentence. Instruction to the child: read both sentences, identify the missing word.
Masha lives near the TITLE. “Not far from school … Masha.”
Outside the LHO wind. – The wind on the street …
And the like. You can invent such proposals together with the child. The child thinks you, you – him. Then, in addition to the ability to read, you will practice and the ability to write competently. Plus you will develop creative abilities.
Then you can complicate this exercise by inserting into the sentences two or three changed words, and in the second sentence, skip these words. So harder to guess.

In the second exercise we work on the same principle with texts. Instruction: read both texts, determine what words the second lacks. For example, the text from A. P. Chekhov “The First Snow.”
Recently, there was snow in VYIPER. In ZDUVOHE there was a smell of snow. Under GANOMI the snow crunched gently. The earth, RYKSHI, trees on the boulevards – everything was soft, white, young. And this house looked different than CHEVAR.

First … was recently. Snow … in the air. The snow is soft … under your feet. Roofs, earth, trees on … – everything was white, young, soft. And … it looked different than yesterday.
You can complicate the text in the same way as in the previous exercise, gradually moving to a completely “spoiled” text.

The third exercise for those who like math. Addition, subtraction and letters. We begin with the simplest.
МО + РО + ЗА-А =? УР + К-Р + ОЛ =? ЯМ + ГУ-МУ + ODA = Я … О … А
Then we rely on our own and the child’s imagination and creativity.

And finally, the fourth exercise, the easiest to compose the task, but the most difficult for the child. We put order in sentences. For this exercise, proverbs and sayings are needed. We confuse the order of words in the sentence. And we collect them again. You can write the first word with a capital letter.
that and frightens from. Whom the fire of smoke is running
brought the spring. Water flowed from the mountains. Some Logan Pirsall Smith said: “Passionate books are never alone in bed.” Help you and your children do not remain alone, especially in bed!
